Never Stop Moving is a 100% volunteer run organization apart from the rock climbing courses. Never Stop Moving wouldn’t exist without the volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to bring our mission to fruition. We are always looking for more people to volunteer their time and become a part of the Never Stop Moving family! Below are ways you can become involved in supporting our mission and vision.

 

Training for Climbing Club Coordinator

Interested in volunteering at your local indoor rock climbing club and creating a welcoming community for womxn to cross the barriers of entry into rock climbing and fitness? Become a Training for Climbing Club Coordinator at your local climbing gym!

Responsibilities

  • Believe in the mission, vision and core values of Never Stop Moving.

  • Facilitate a 2 hour training session at least once a week at your local indoor rock climbing gym.

  • Take photos of your club and share on Google Photos and NSM social media.

  • Attend a volunteer meeting or conference call to go over the responsibilities.

  • Be welcoming and inclusive to everyone regardless of their climbing abilities.

  • Must volunteer for a minimum of 1 season

  • Free NSM Membership (will have to pay a reduced fee for certain trips)

  • Receive 15% off NSM apparel in stock.

Climbing Trip Leader

Interested in volunteering at your local outdoor rock climbing crags and creating a welcoming community for womxn to cross the barriers of entry into rock climbing and fitness? Become a Trip Leader and organize and run recreational climbing trips at destinations across the Pacific Northwest!

REsponsibilities

  • Believe in the mission, vision and core values of Never Stop Moving

  • Volunteer to lead at least 2 NSM Climbing Trips a year.

  • Attend the 2 day NSM Trip Leader Retreat in December.

  • Organize and facilitate the climbing trip including sending pre-trip and post-trip emails, arranging carpools, uploading pictures, welcoming everyone to the meeting location, encourage people to complete their goals and more!

  • Ensure you have an appropriate number of ropes and climbing gear to lead an efficient climbing trip.

  • Become familiar with the climbing area and climbs people may want to complete during each trip.

  • Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere to have an awesome climbing trip!

  • Must volunteer for a minimum of 1 year.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold current First Aid and CPR certifications. (Certification costs $15. If you need to be reimbursed by NSM, email us.)

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of rock-climbing experience (outdoor preferred).

  • Solid understanding of single-pitch rock-climbing anchor systems, leading, rappelling and cleaning (required for non-bouldering trips).

  • Can lead sport climbs 5.8 or greater outdoors (required for sport climbing trips)

  • Can boulder V1 outdoors (required for bouldering trips)

  • Can lead traditional climbs 5.6 or greater (required for traditional climbing trips)

Hiking Trip Leader

Interested in going on after-work or weekend hikes and creating a welcoming community for womxn to cross the barriers of entry into the outdoors and fitness? Become a Hiking Trip Leader and organize and run recreational hiking and backpacking trips at destinations across the Pacific Northwest!

REsponsibilities

  • Believe in the mission, vision and core values of Never Stop Moving

  • Volunteer to lead at least 5 NSM Hiking Trips a year.

  • Organize and facilitate the hiking trip including sending pre-trip and post-trip emails, arranging carpools, uploading pictures, welcoming everyone to the meeting location, encouraging people to complete their goals and more!

  • Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere to have an awesome hiking trip!

  • Must volunteer for a minimum of 1 year.

Ski & Board Trip Leader

Interested in going on after-work or weekend ski & board trips to various mountains and back-country destinations around Washington? Become a Ski & Board Trip Leader and organize and run recreational skiing, snowboarding and backcountry trips at destinations across the Pacific Northwest! Join other self-identifying females for some winter fun.

REsponsibilities

  • Believe in the mission, vision and core values of Never Stop Moving

  • Volunteer to lead at least 5 NSM Ski & Board Trips a year.

  • Organize and facilitate the ski & board trip including sending pre-trip and post-trip emails, arranging carpools, uploading pictures, welcoming everyone to the meeting location, encouraging people to complete their goals and more!

  • Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere to have an awesome ski & board trip!

  • Must volunteer for a minimum of 1 year.

  • Hold current AIARE 1 certification to lead backcountry trips.

  • Have the ability to ski or board most black diamond runs in all conditions.

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of skiing experience.
